About Us

Hey! We’re Kanchan and Nick and we’ve been living out our dream of traveling the world by motorcycle since October 2011. We’ve covered Asia, Australia, Africa, and Europe! Next stop, South America! We are based out of Houston, Texas but we both hail from Punjab, India. Nick was working as an analyst at a natural gas exploration company and was born and brought up in India. He is a long time biker, and loves off-road riding. Kanchan was working as a pharmacist for a retail chain and was born and brought up here in the US. Kanchan loves art in its many forms but is partial to drawing and painting. We met in December 2007 and we’ve been inseparable since then! We tied the knot in May 2010 and set out after our first anniversary for the ride of our lives!

Why we’re doing it

Traveling on a trip like this was an idea we had tossed around since we started dating. The conversation was always spotted with ‘I wish’ or ‘If only we could’ Actually going on a world tour had a far away, unattainable sort of feel to it, until one weekday after work, we went on a long walk and made a spur-of-the moment decision that we weren’t ready for the ‘conventional’ route after marriage. From that day on we committed to making this dream our reality.

We loved living in Houston and miss our family and friends, but we have been blessed with the perfect timing to take on such a project. Along with our shared passion of travel and to see the world, the chance was too good to pass up! So here we are, 2 years on the road, still in love and still loving life! We have learned about different countries, people, and cultures and have opened our minds and hearts to ideas and experiences we’ve never encountered before. This is most definitely a life changing experience and we treasure all we’ve experienced so far!

Why on motorcycle?

Some people may ask, ‘why on a motorcycle?’ For us, there’s really no other way. We honeymooned on the Amalfi Coast, Italy and rented out this tiny, powerless scooter and weaved along the coast it was the most amazing feeling. All of our senses were tantalized by what was around us. Yes, you are exposed to everything good and bad but in our minds that only enriches our experience. We considered an SUV but we decided that the vulnerability you feel on the bike awakens the soul and will keep us in touch with our surroundings as opposed to being boxed in by four doors.
