Happy Diwali!

After Raid we spent a lot of time visiting family since all of my Mom’s side was here and so were all of Nick’s Mom’s side. So we were spending time between Chandigarh and Sangrur. I had never been in India for Diwali so that was exciting since we decided to go with Nick’s family to Amritsar to celebrate at the Golden Temple. It was crazy crowded!!!! Eventually we made our way into the Golden Temple and went to the top floor to watch the fireworks. It’s amazing how a simple thing like fireworks pleases everyone young and old. The fireworks were huge and going off in each of the four corners and the sea of people exclaimed “Bole So Nihal!….Sat Sri Akal!” when the first firework went up. I think that was the coolest thing that every single person had their face turned upwards looking up to the sky. Not sure it can be explained it’s really just a sight to see. The way the whole complex was decorated and the lit diyas tracing the boundaries of the sarovar was too much to take in. It made me tear up it was so pretty.
